Full-Service Residential Moving Services in Seattle

A home move is rarely just loading a truck. There’s packing to schedule, furniture to take apart, a building or a long driveway to plan around, and sometimes a gap between closing dates. Our residential moving services in Seattle bring all of that under one plan, carried out by one crew of full-time, background-checked Puget Sound Moving employees.

We’re a family-owned company founded in Seattle in 2009 by owner Cirdan Imbler, and we’ve completed more than 20,000 moves since. Give our crew as much or as little direction as you like. Some customers label every box and direct each piece; others hand over the keys and let us handle the details.

Every Kind of Home, One Moving Team

Single-family houses

From a Craftsman bungalow to a four-bedroom home in the suburbs, with the garage, basement, and yard included. See our house movers page for how we size crews and trucks.

Condos and townhomes

Shared elevators in Seattle condo towers, narrow interior stairs in townhomes, and HOA move-in rules. We reserve elevators and provide certificates of insurance when a building asks for them.

Apartments

Studios to multi-bedroom units, walk-ups to high-rises. Our apartment movers plan around building schedules and tight hallways.

Downsizing and senior moves

Moving only the pieces that fit a smaller home, at a patient pace, with the bed set up first at the new place.

What’s Included on Every Residential Move

  • Moving truck and fuel
  • Moving blankets and shrink wrap for furniture
  • Furniture disassembly and reassembly
  • Floor and door frame protection
  • Elevator reservations and building COIs handled
  • A 48-hour damage guarantee

Our residential moving services in Seattle and across the region come with no stair fees, elevator fees, fuel surcharges, or weekend surcharges. Stairs and long carries affect only how long the move takes. If anything is damaged, report it within 48 hours and we’ll repair or replace it.

Packing, Storage, and Multi-Stop Moves

Packing your way

Choose a full pack, a partial pack (often just the kitchen), or fragile items only. Our packing services label every box by room and contents, and packers often come the day before.

Storage when dates don’t line up

Short- and long-term storage in solid wood vaults inside a temperature-controlled, alarmed facility, with a detailed inventory and delivery when you’re ready.

Several stops in one move

One move can drop furniture at your new home, a storage unit, and a family member’s place on the same day.

Specialty items

Pianos, safes, pool tables, antiques, and artwork get extra padding and planning. Mention them when you book so we bring the right crew.

How Residential Moves Are Priced

Local moves within Washington of 55 miles or less are billed by the hour for the crew and truck. Moves over 55 miles in Washington are priced by weight and mileage, with the truck weighed empty and full. For moves out of state, we review your inventory and give you a written estimate. Our moving prices page walks through each option.

We move homes across Seattle and the rest of the Puget Sound, from Ballard and West Seattle to Bellevue, Kent, Tukwila, and Tacoma, throughout King, Pierce, and Snohomish counties. When you’re booking Seattle residential movers, two to four weeks’ notice is ideal for a local move, and four to eight weeks for a long distance or summer move. Short-notice dates are often available, and we move seven days a week.

Residential Moving Questions

How much will my move cost?

It depends on distance and size. Local moves are billed hourly for crew and truck, longer in-state moves are priced by weight and mileage, and out-of-state moves get a written estimate based on your inventory. A free estimate is the best way to get a number for your home.

Do you offer moving insurance?

Every move includes basic coverage, but it’s limited. Valuation, which is extra moving coverage, is available at an added cost. Ask us about it if you’re moving valuable items.

How accurate will my estimate be?

The more we see, the more accurate it is. A free video estimate lets you walk us through every room, closet, and garage on a video call, so nothing gets missed.

Is there anything you can’t move?

We can’t transport hazardous materials such as gasoline, propane, paint, or aerosols, and pets and passengers can’t ride in the truck. We also can’t disconnect gas lines, water lines, or electrical fixtures, so have those disconnected beforehand.

Do I have to empty my dressers?

Clothes can stay in sturdy dressers. Remove anything loose or breakable first.
