Seattle Commercial and Office Movers Who Plan Around Your Business

A lease ending, a growing team or a consolidation can all mean it’s time to move the office. Our Seattle commercial movers plan the move around your business so the work gets done with as little downtime as possible, whether you’re relocating a small office in Pioneer Square, a retail space in Fremont or a warehouse in the Kent Valley.

Puget Sound Moving has been moving businesses and households since 2009, when the company was founded in Seattle. Today we work from five offices across the Puget Sound (Seattle, Bellevue, Tacoma, Kent and Tukwila) and serve King, Pierce and Snohomish counties. Every crew member is a full-time, background-checked employee, which matters when movers are working inside your office after hours.

Spaces We Move

Offices

Desks, chairs, conference tables, filing cabinets, computers and supplies, packed and labeled so each workstation lands in the right place.

Retail stores

Fixtures, displays, stock and back-room furniture, moved on a schedule that keeps your doors open as long as possible.

Warehouses

Shelving contents, equipment and inventory moved to a new building or between locations, with deliveries to more than one address on the same move if you need it.

Labs

Lab and medical equipment needs extra care. Tell us about it when you book so we can plan the padding, crating and handling. See our specialty moving page for more.

How We Keep Downtime Low

  • Evening and weekend moves, seven days a week, with no weekend surcharge
  • Freight elevators, loading docks and certificates of insurance coordinated with your building
  • Furniture disassembled, wrapped and reassembled at the new space
  • Floor and door frame protection in both buildings
  • Boxes labeled by room and contents so unpacking goes quickly
  • Short- and long-term commercial storage if the new space isn’t ready

Office buildings often require a reserved freight elevator and a certificate of insurance before movers can start. Send us each building’s requirements early and we’ll take care of the paperwork, whether you’re moving within downtown Seattle or out to an industrial park in Tukwila.

Planning Your Office Move

  1. Walk us through the space

A free video estimate lets us see the furniture, equipment and access at your current location. We’ll ask about the new space too.

  2. Set the schedule and building details

We pick a time that works for your team, often an evening or weekend, and line up elevators, docks and insurance certificates at both buildings.

  3. Prepare desks and equipment

Your IT team disconnects computers and equipment before the move. Lateral filing cabinets need to be emptied. Our packing services can box up files, supplies and break rooms.

  4. Move and set up

Our crew loads, moves and reassembles furniture at the new location, placing it according to your floor plan. Your IT team then reconnects the computers.

Local or Out of State

Commercial moves within Washington of 55 miles or less are billed by the hour for the crew and truck, with no stair, elevator or fuel fees. Longer in-state moves are priced by weight and mileage, and out-of-state relocations get a written estimate after we review the inventory. If your company is leaving Seattle for another state, our long distance movers handle that too.

For lead time, two to four weeks is ideal for a local office move, and four to eight weeks is better for long distance or summer dates. If a lease deadline sneaks up on you, call anyway: short-notice dates are often available. A move coordinator usually responds within two hours during business hours.

With offices in Seattle and four other Puget Sound cities, our office movers in Seattle handle moves that cross the city, head over to the Eastside or go down to the South Sound.

Commercial Moving Questions

Can you move our office after hours?

Yes. Our commercial movers in Seattle work evenings and weekends to limit downtime, and we don’t charge extra for weekend moves.

Do you disconnect and set up our computers?

No. Your IT team should disconnect computers and equipment before we arrive and reconnect them afterward. We move and place everything carefully in between.

Do filing cabinets need to be emptied?

Lateral filing cabinets must be emptied before the move. Ask about other cabinets when you book.

Can you work with our building’s requirements?

Yes. We coordinate freight elevators and loading docks and provide certificates of insurance for both buildings.

Can you store furniture between locations?

Yes. We offer commercial storage in a temperature-controlled, alarmed facility, short or long term.
