Trusted Seattle Movers for Apartments, Houses & Offices

Moving in Seattle means hills, narrow streets, tight parking, and buildings with rules for everything from elevator time to loading docks. If you’re trying to find movers in Seattle who plan for all of it, Puget Sound Moving has an office downtown at 1420 5th Ave, in the heart of the city.

Every crew we send is made up of full-time, background-checked Puget Sound Moving employees. We never use day laborers or subcontractors, and the office that builds your estimate is the same one that schedules your crew and answers when you call.

Our Seattle moving services cover studios in Capitol Hill, family homes in Ballard and West Seattle, and offices downtown and in South Lake Union: local moving, long distance relocation, apartment and condo moves, residential moves, and commercial movers, plus packing, storage, and help for seniors and antiques.

Here’s why customers choose our moving company:

  • Our own crews: every mover is a full-time, background-checked employee. No subcontractors or day laborers.
  • 7-day availability: weekday and weekend moves, with short-notice dates often open.
  • Transparent pricing: no stair fees, elevator fees, or fuel surcharges on any moving job.
  • Building-ready: elevator reservations and certificates of insurance handled for you.
  • 48-hour damage guarantee: report damage within 48 hours and we repair or replace it.
  • Packing & storage: full or partial packing, plus short- and long-term options.
  • Licensed: USDOT #1885649 and WUTC HG #063541.

Moving in Seattle: What Our Movers Plan For

Reserving curb space for the truck

On many city blocks, the only way to guarantee a spot for a moving truck is a city Temporary No Parking Zone, with no-parking easels placed about 72 hours ahead. We’ll tell you if your street needs one and how to set it up.

Downtown and South Lake Union towers

High-rises usually need an elevator reservation, a dock time, and a certificate of insurance. Send us your building’s move-in packet and we’ll coordinate with your property manager.

Hills, stairs and walk-ups

Queen Anne, Capitol Hill, and Magnolia mean steep streets, long front stairs, and older walk-ups without elevators. We plan the carry and send the right number of movers so the stairs don’t drag out the day.

Bridges, I-5 and SR 99

Getting across the Ship Canal or to West Seattle can take longer than the loading. We time start times and routes to avoid the worst of rush hour, which matters on an hourly move.

Need a Seattle Moving Company on Short Notice?

Leases end early and closing dates move. Call our office and a real person answers, the same team that schedules your crew. Short-notice dates are often open, even within the same week.

With offices in Seattle, Bellevue, Tukwila, Kent, and Tacoma, we handle moves across the city, around the Puget Sound region, across Washington, and out of state.

What Customers Say About Puget Sound Moving

Frequently Asked Questions About Moving in Seattle

Where is your Seattle office?

Our Seattle office is at 1420 5th Ave, Ste 2260, Seattle, WA 98101. Call (206) 558-2910 to talk to the team that schedules your move.

Do I need a parking permit for the moving truck?

Sometimes. If your block has limited parking, you can reserve curb space with a City of Seattle Temporary No Parking Zone. The no-parking easels should go up about 72 hours before the move. We’ll let you know if your street needs one.

Can you work with my building’s elevator and insurance requirements?

Yes. Send us your building’s move-in packet and we’ll provide the certificate of insurance your property manager needs, then plan the crew around your elevator and dock time.

Do you charge extra for stairs?

No. There are no stair fees, elevator fees, or fuel surcharges. Stairs only affect how long the move takes, and we build that into your estimate.

How far ahead should I book movers in Seattle?

Two to four weeks is ideal, especially for weekends and the end of the month, when most leases in the city turn over. Short-notice moves are often possible.

Do you offer storage?

Yes. Short- and long-term storage for moves where your new place isn’t ready yet, with delivery whenever you are.
