Local Moving Across Tacoma and Pierce County
A local move might be an apartment in Hilltop to a house in the West End, a North End bungalow to a newer home in University Place, or a condo downtown to a place in Gig Harbor. Our Tacoma local movers bill by the hour for the crew and truck, so your cost follows the actual job instead of a flat price padded for the worst case.
Moving blankets, shrink wrap, furniture disassembly and reassembly, and floor and door frame protection are part of every move, not add-ons.
“We moved a 2 bed condo and a 20x10 storage unit into a new house and everything was super smooth.”
Jacob M., Google review
How Big a Crew Your Tacoma Move Needs
A bigger crew costs more per hour and finishes sooner, which often makes it the cheaper option on a larger home.
- 2 movers + truck: studios and 1-bedrooms
- 3 movers + truck: 2-bedrooms and small homes
- 4 movers + truck: 3-bedroom homes
- 4 movers + 2 trucks: 3- to 4-bedroom homes
- 5 movers + 2 trucks: 4- to 5-bedroom homes
- 6 movers + 2 trucks: 5+ bedrooms
Ways to Shorten an Hourly Move in Tacoma
Tell us about the alley
If your home has alley access, let us know. Loading from a back alley can save a long carry from the street.
Beat I-5, not the clock
Early starts and midweek dates keep the truck out of I-5 traffic between Tacoma and Fife, and every minute off the road is a minute off your bill.
Finish packing first
Sealed, labeled boxes load quickly. If packing is running behind, our packers can come the day before.
Move only the heavy pieces
Some customers move their own boxes and have us handle the furniture. It’s a simple way to cut the hours.
Local Moving Questions
Is a move to Gig Harbor or Puyallup still local?
Moves around Tacoma, Pierce County, and the greater Puget Sound area are usually billed by the hour. Longer moves are priced as long distance, and we’ll tell you which applies when you call.
How long will my move take?
It depends on how much you have, the stairs and carry at each end, and the drive. We’ll give you a realistic time window with your estimate.
Do you move pianos and oversized furniture?
Yes. Tell us about any piano, safe, or oversized piece when you book so the crew brings the right equipment.
How soon can you move me?
Two to three weeks’ notice gives you the most options, but same-week local moves are often possible. Call and we’ll check.
