Renton Movers for Apartments, Starter Homes & Lake Houses

Our Tukwila office on Industry Drive sits just west of the city line, so Puget Sound Moving crews reach most Renton addresses in minutes on I-405 or SR 167. From apartments near The Landing to split-levels in the Highlands and homes near the lake in Kennydale, we know the hills and the traffic between them.

We’re a locally owned, family-owned moving company founded in Seattle in 2009, with more than 20,000 moves behind us. Every mover is a full-time, background-checked Puget Sound Moving employee. We don’t use subcontractors or day laborers.

Our Renton moving services cover apartment and condo moves, first homes and family homes, senior moves, appliance and piano moves, and long distance relocation, plus packing, storage, and commercial moves for offices and warehouses.

Here’s why customers choose our moving company:

  • Our own crews: every mover is a full-time, background-checked employee. No subcontractors or day laborers.
  • 7-day availability: weekday and weekend moves, with short-notice dates often open.
  • Transparent pricing: no stair fees, elevator fees, or fuel surcharges on any moving job.
  • Building-ready: elevator reservations and certificates of insurance handled for you.
  • 48-hour damage guarantee: report damage within 48 hours and we repair or replace it.
  • Packing & storage: full or partial packing, plus short- and long-term options.
  • Licensed: USDOT #1885649 and WUTC HG #063541.

Moving in Renton: What Our Movers Plan For

Apartments around The Landing and downtown

Larger complexes often have assigned loading areas, long hallways, and elevator rules. Tell us your building’s requirements and we’ll plan the crew and timing around them.

Up the hill to the Highlands, Benson Hill and Fairwood

Much of Renton sits on plateaus above the valley floor, with split-levels and long driveways. We plan truck placement and crew size so the stairs don’t stretch out your day.

Kennydale and lakeside homes

Homes near Lake Washington can have steep driveways, narrow streets, and stairs down to the front door. We check access ahead of time and protect floors, railings, and door frames.

The I-405 and SR 167 interchange

This is one of the region’s busiest interchanges. Because our crews start close by in Tukwila, we can set start times that dodge the worst of the rush, which matters on an hourly move.

Need a Renton Moving Company on Short Notice?

A closing date moves up or a lease ends early. Our crews work seven days a week with no weekend surcharges, and short-notice dates are often available. A move coordinator usually responds within two hours during business hours.

With offices in Tukwila, Kent, Seattle, Bellevue, and Tacoma, we can move you from Renton to anywhere in King, Pierce, or Snohomish County, across Washington, or out of state.

What Customers Say About Puget Sound Moving

Frequently Asked Questions About Moving in Renton

Which office serves Renton?

Our Tukwila office at 1091 Industry Dr schedules and sends crews to Renton. It’s right next door, a few minutes west on I-405. We don’t have an office in Renton itself.

Do I need to disconnect my washer and fridge?

Yes. Our movers aren’t plumbers or electricians and can’t disconnect gas lines, so disconnect washers, fridges with water lines, and light fixtures before moving day. We’ll move the appliances once they’re ready.

Do you help seniors move into retirement communities?

Yes. We work at a patient pace, move only the pieces chosen for the new home, coordinate move-in with the community, and set up the bed first. Family members can arrange everything for a parent.

How many movers do I need for a three-bedroom house?

A three-bedroom home usually takes four movers and one truck. Larger homes with lots of furniture may need two trucks. We confirm after reviewing your inventory.

Can I bring my pets in the truck?

No. Pets and passengers can’t ride in the moving truck, so plan to bring them in your own car.

How far ahead should I book?

Two to four weeks is ideal for a local move, and four to eight weeks for summer or long distance moves. Short-notice moves are often possible, so call even if your date is close.
