Seattle Apartment Movers for Walk-Ups, Condos, and High-Rises

Apartment living in Seattle comes in every shape: brick walk-ups on Capitol Hill and First Hill, older buildings on Queen Anne with narrow stairwells, and glass towers in Belltown, Downtown, and South Lake Union with loading docks and reserved elevators. Our Seattle apartment movers plan for the building before they show up, so the hours go to moving, not waiting.

Every crew is made up of full-time, background-checked Puget Sound Moving employees. There are no stair fees or elevator fees, so a fourth-floor walk-up costs only the extra time it takes.

Apartment Situations We Plan For

Elevator bookings and COIs

Many newer Seattle buildings need an elevator reservation and a certificate of insurance before move day. Send us your building’s move-in packet and we’ll handle the COI.

Walk-ups without elevators

Older Seattle buildings often have tight landings and steep stairs. We send enough movers to keep the carry steady and take apart furniture that won’t make the turn.

No place for the truck

On busy blocks, a City of Seattle Temporary No Parking Zone can reserve curb space. The no-parking easels should go up about 72 hours before you move.

End-of-month turnover

Leases tend to end on the same few days, so elevators and dates fill up. Booking two to four weeks ahead gives you the best options.

What Comes With Every Seattle Apartment Move

  • Truck and fuel, with no fuel surcharge
  • Moving blankets and shrink wrap
  • Bed and furniture disassembly and reassembly
  • Floor and door frame protection in hallways
  • Two movers for most studios and 1-bedrooms, three for 2-bedrooms

Not sure how much you have? A free video estimate takes a few minutes, and we’ll recommend the crew size for your apartment.

From One Neighborhood to the Next

We move renters and condo owners between the University District, Fremont, Green Lake, Ballard, Beacon Hill, and Columbia City, and out to places like Shoreline, Renton, and Bellevue. If your move-out and move-in dates don’t line up, we can store your things and deliver later. Short on time to pack? See our Seattle packing services.

Apartment Moving Questions

Do you charge extra for stairs or elevators?

No. There are no stair or elevator fees. Stairs only add to the time the move takes.

Can you provide a certificate of insurance for my building?

Yes. Send us your building’s requirements and we’ll provide the COI your property manager asks for.

Do I need a parking permit for the truck?

Sometimes. If parking near your building is limited, you can reserve curb space with a City of Seattle Temporary No Parking Zone. We’ll let you know if it makes sense for your block.

Can you move me this week?

Often, yes. Our Seattle crews move 7 days a week and short-notice dates are often available. Call and we’ll check.
